Become a CSA Member

We offer CSA memberships on a seasonal basis.
CSA is a special relationship between a farm and its sustaining supporters. Residents of each participating neighborhood can become Urban Patchwork members by paying for shares at the beginning of each season. In return, members receive twelve weeks of fresh, seasonal veggies, fruits, nuts and eggs from the neighborhood farm. Urban Patchwork relies on sustaining support to plan ahead for the crops and materials needed to produce the healthiest and most abundant produce possible.
When considering whether or not to join a CSA, there are a few questions you may want to ask yourself and others in your household. CSA shares offer a certain amount and type of produce that you may not be used to, and changing eating habits is no small thing. We at Urban Patchwork toil hard to ensure each box is packed with a balance of flavor and nutrients, so we hope, as a member, you’ll enjoy the adventure with us trusting that we have your care and needs in mind every step of the way.
When deciding whether to support Urban Patchwork through CSA, do the following statements describe you and your household?
* I like to cook and my schedule allows me to make homemade meals.
* It is fun to try vegetables that are new to me.
* If I have excess produce, I love to share it with others or I have cooking methods that allow me to store it for later.
* I love the idea of food grown close-by and supported by my immediate neighbors. Knowing that my membership goes far to foster a healthy community means a lot to me.
* I like to help determine what gets planted on the farm and share in community events like neighborhood pot-lucks.
If you said “yes” to most of the above statements, you should have an enjoyable experience receiving a weekly box of fresh produce from your neighborhood Urban Patchwork, and you’ll be happy knowing your membership supports a farm that is dedicated to fostering strong community and producing healthy food.
CSA memberships are available on a first come, first served basis to residents and businesses in the 78757 zip code and Highland neighborhood. Once memberships fill up we will make a waiting list available, or you may sign up in advance for the next season to take advantage of member events and opportunities.
Early-bird memberships for the spring season paid before February 15, 2010 are $18 per week for a small box and $30 per week for a family box payable by the season. Memberships paid after February 15, 2010 are $20 per week for small boxes and $34 per week for large boxes.
Each weekly CSA box provides generous servings of vegetables plus a variety of seasonal herbs, fruits, nuts and eggs if desired. Depending on individual preferences, the small box shares serve 1-2 people and large box shares serve families and vegetarians.
Shares are offered for weekly pick up at a neighborhood location near you or you can have your produce delivered to your door for an additional $2 per delivery. The delivery option is offered in the drop down menu below.
