Safe, accessible food for everyone.
Until it is commonplace for us to get a majority of our food from local farms rather than going to the store to purchase processed food from far away, we won’t stop working to bring farms to our neighborhoods. From $10 for a new hand tool to $10,000 to kick-off a new neighborhood farm, together we can work as a community to make that dream a reality.
Environmental Responsibility.
You are contributing to a restored earth when you give to our programs. We seek, daily, to renew our urban environment after decades of damage from harsh machines and destructive development practices. Living in concert with nature not only helps maintain the balance of the environment that nurtures us, but it makes us healthier and happier. You can trust that our practices revive the soil, reduce the resources we use, divert materials from landfills, restore habitat, and contribute to cleaner air.
Job Training and Creation.
Farming is hard work and a lost art. Farmers deserve a living wage and cutting edge training to learn how to reduce costs while increasing quality of life. We teach farming methods and ethical practices that protect the earth and nurture our communities. Contributions to our programs help us prepare each other for the future of farming which brings jobs back home and supports families without subsidies and poverty.
Community Development.
Picture former strangers walking home together, laughing and sharing recipes after picking up fresh veggies at the neighborhood park. Think of the smile on the face of a woman who has been home sick and who’s neighbor requested she receive a free box of veggies delivered by the neighborhood farmer. Together, with the help of everyone in the community, this is the work we do. When you partner with us, this is the work YOU do.
