Get Involved
It’s a fun and critical part of what we do!
So, you want to work/help/volunteer on a farm. You want to get more connected to the community you live in and the food that you eat. You want to know your farmers by name. You want to donate.
Sounds good! We can help.
There are several ways that you can get involved with Urban Patchwork (which will heretofore be referred to as UP). Community is what we’re all about, and your involvement is a HUGE part of what makes community happen. So, please get involved in any way that you can. Every little bit counts.
Volunteer
We take this farm very seriously. Our livelihood is made or broken by the health and quality of the plants, animals, and the community that is fostered within each neighborhood. This farm is our pride and joy. Therefore, we hold very high standards for ourselves and for everyone who partners with us; everyone who is involved with the farm. At the same time, we rely heavily on volunteer help for almost all parts of the operation: we cannot do this alone, and even if we could, we simply do not want to. It is our joy and desire to work with you.
If you would like to volunteer, there are a few different ways that we are able to partner with you. We have a workshare program called “Work UP an Appetite”, we welcome volunteers for single projects and events, and if you have a special skill, we’d love for you to share it with the farm!

Donate or Become a Partner
You can be certain that your contribution to our work will make a meaningful difference right in your own local community. Educational programs, assistance programs, internships and workshops are only the beginning of what we can do with the participation of everyone in the community, and we rely on all levels of participation including individual and business contributions. From $5 to $500k, your partnership will improve the lives of many people in Austin. Read further here about our principles and what your contribution to the community can accomplish.
Be a Land Host
Each neighborhood farm network needs a stable amount of land to provide healthy, affordable food. Land hosts receive produce in exchange for unused portions of their yards and receive other benefits like utility credits and cost reduction programs, year end bounty bonuses, and the opportunity to participate in projects that improve quality of life and the environment. Click here to let us know if you’d like to offer your yard as a part of your neighborhood farm!
