Urban Patchwork strengthens communities, provides jobs and increases the possibility of food access to everyone every day thanks to caring people, like you, who want to contribute to your community by supporting our work.

When you give to Urban Patchwork’s programs you are supporting some of the following, and more:

farmstand eggplantsSafe, accessible food for everyone.

Until it is commonplace for us to get a majority of our food within walking distance from our homes and from local farms we won’t stop working to bring food gardens to our neighborhoods. From $10 for a new hand tool to $10,000 to kick-off a new neighborhood farm, together we can work as a community to make that dream a reality.

Environmental Responsibility.

You are contributing to a restored earth when you give to our programs. Our methods regenerate our urban soil and watersheds after decades of damage from destructive development and agricultural practices. Living in concert with nature not only helps maintain the balance of the environment that nurtures us, but it makes us healthier and happier. You can trust that our practices revive the soil, reduce the resources we use, divert materials from landfills, restore habitat, and contribute to cleaner air.

Farming is hard work and a lost art. Farmers deserve a living wage and cutting edge training to learn how to reduce costs while increasing quality of life. We teach horticultural gardening methods and ethical practices that protect the earth, nurture our communities and ensure a job future for striving new urban farmers. Contributions to our programs help us prepare each other for the future of farming which brings jobs back home and supports families without subsidies and poverty.

Community Development.

Picture former strangers walking home together, laughing and sharing recipes after picking up fresh veggies at the neighborhood park. Think of the smile on the face of a woman who’s neighbor sends over a free box of fresh veggies from the neighborhood farm after she has been home ill. Together, with the help of everyone in the community, this is the work we do.

When you partner with us, this is the work YOU do.

We make food happen. You make the rest happen. Please consider contributing to your community today.
